On 12 September 2014, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chuying announced that at the invitation of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli will attend, as the Special Envoy of President Xi Jinping, the UN Climate Summit to be held on 23September 2014 at the UN Headquarters in New York.
