Ladies and Gentlemen,

At the outset, on behalf of the Chinese government, I welcome all of you to the side event on the launching of PADIS-int.

China is the most populous country in the world. The issue of population has been a key factor in its economic and social development. The Chinese government always attaches great importance to the undertaking of population and development. Thanks to the family planning policy, 400 million fewer people were born in china. This not only creates a favorable condition for China's socioeconomic development, but contributes significantly to the population and development endeavors of the world. It reflects the responsibility that China has shouldered as a populous country.

The Chinese government highly values the role played by population forecasting in demographic development, and has worked vigorously to promote the innovation and application of population forecasting technology. As a product that builds on Chinese experience and wisdom in demographic development, PADIS-int uses population forecasting technology that has been proved scientific and applicable by China.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Countries may differ in their national conditions, but they are all faced with the arduous task of promoting demographic development. The Chinese government is willing to share its achievements and experience in demographic development with other countries and regions. I am confident that PADIS-int will bring benefits to all countries.

Thank you.
