In Geneva, on April 18, the 57th session of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights made the decision that the anti-China draft resolution initiated by the United States this year would not be considered by the Commission. The decision was made when the Commission voted on a "no-action" motion tabled by China. 23 countries voted for the motion, 17 voted against it, 12 abstained and 1 did not participate in the voting. This is the 10th time that China has foiled US-led attempts to pass a resolution on China's human rights situation at the Commission's yearly session.
