On January 21, 2009, the opening ceremony of Exhibition at the United Nations: Chinese Oracle Calligraphy was held at the UN Headquarters. UN Under-Secretary-General Sha Zukang and Ambassador Zhenmin LIU, Deputy Permanent Representative of China to the UN, attended and addressed the opening ceremony.

The 10-day-long exhibition is jointly sponsored by the Permanent Mission of China to the UN, the UN Chinese Book Club, Jiangsu Society for Studies of Oracle Bone Inscriptions, Jiangsu International Cultural Exchange Association, Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture, Jiangsu Provincial Federation of Philosophical and Social Science Circles and the Information Office of Jiangsu Provincial Government.
