Ambassador Zhang Jun Met with Permanent Representative of Angola Ambassador Maria de Jesus dos Reis Ferreira

On December 3, Ambassador Zhang Jun, Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations, met with Ambassador Maria de Jesus dos Reis Ferreira, Permanent Representative of Angola to the United Nations. The two sides exchanged views on China-Angola relations and cooperation between the two countries at the United Nations.

Ambassador Zhang said that China and Angola enjoy traditional friendship and are good friends, brothers and partners who trust each other. China firmly supports African countries' choice of their own development path, and is willing to work with Angola to accelerate the implementation of the results of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, promote the joint development of the "Belt and Road" and strengthen the complementarity of development strategies. It is hoped that the two permanent missions will continue to support each other, strengthen communication and coordination on issues of common concern, and work together to safeguard multilateralism and the common rights and interests of developing countries.

Ambassador Ferreira said that Angola attaches importance to China's important influence in international affairs, appreciates china's support for Angola and other African countries, and highly values China's constructive role in promoting the solution of African hot issues. Angola is willing to deepen cooperation with China at the United Nations and other international organizations to safeguard the common rights and interests of developing countries.
