On February 10, Ambassador Zhang Jun, Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations, met with UN Secretary-General's Special Representative for Guinea-Bissau and head of UNIOGBIS Rosine Sori-Coulibaly. They exchanged views on the situation of Guinea-Bissau and the work of UNIOGBIS.

Ambassador Zhang expressed appreciation for the efforts Special Representative Coulibaly has made to the political process of Guinea-Bissau and support for enhanced coordination between the UN system with regional and sub-regional organizations, while incorporating development perspective in their conflict prevention efforts. Special Representative Coulibaly commended the contribution China has made to the peace and development of Guinea-Bissau, and looks forward to strengthening cooperation with China in fully playing the UN's role and promoting peace, stability and economic and social development in Guinea-Bissau.
