|Remarks by Ambassador Dai Bing at the Reception celebrating the successful completion of the Capacity-building Seminars on Cross-border E-commerce, and Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Dear colleagues and friends,
Welcome to today's reception.
Over the past two months, within the framework of the Global Development Initiative, China jointly held two capacity-building seminars with the UNOSSC and UNDP, both of which focusing on the urgent needs of developing countries.
We are glad to see that you, 32 senior diplomats from 31 developing countries, embarked on a journey to China. We are happy to learn that you engaged in meaningful discussions with representatives from the Chinese government, industries, and academia, sharing profound insights and forward-looking thinking in the field of sustainable development. Such interactions not only show your passion and eagerness for international development cooperation and exchanges, but also underscore the profound potential and expectations regarding our bilateral and multilateral collaborations. All these would inject fresh impetus into and renew our determination for the implementation of SDGs.
Also, I believe the visit must have left you with some wonderful impressions of China's achievements in development, its rich culture, splendid landscapes, and of course its amazing cuisine.
Here, allow me to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all of you on the successful completion of the seminars, and also express my sincere gratitude to UNOSSC and UNDP. China will continue to work closely with UN development agencies and actively explore and carry out tangible cooperation within the GDI framework to help other developing countries achieve sustainable development.
The 2030 Agenda embodies our aspirations for a better life and a better future. To realize the Sustainable Development Goals, we must not only demonstrate unwavering commitment, but also take concrete actions. As China pursues its national rejuvenation through Chinese modernization, we are also more than happy to share our development opportunities, experience, and achievements with other developing countries throughout this process.
Finally, I wish to take this opportunity to inform you that China will host a High-level Meeting on Global Development Initiative Cooperation Outcomes on the sidelines of the High-level Week of the UN General Assembly. The event is currently scheduled at 10:00 am on September 19. We warmly welcome the head of your delegation for the high-level week to attend the event.
Thank you and wish you a wonderful evening.
