On August 5, Ambassador Dai Bing, Deputy Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations, had a virtual meeting with H.E. Mr. Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, President of the 74th Session of the UN General Assembly.

Ambassador Dai spoke highly of President Bande’s strong leadership and efforts to unite Member States facing the challenge of COVID-19 and the positive outcomes in many areas of UNGA. President Bande said that the UN faces multiple challenges under new circumstances. Upholding multilateralism and UN’s leadership is important more than ever.

They also exchanged views on the Extraordinary China-Africa Summit on Solidarity Against COVID-19 and the work of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly.
