On December 3, Ambassador Zhang Jun, Permanent Representative of China to the UN, met with Ambassador Majid Takht Ravanchi, Iran's Permanent Representative to the UN. The two sides exchanged views on cooperation at the UN and issues of common concern.

Ambassador Zhang said that the traditional friendship between China and Iran has a long history. The current international and regional situation is rapidly evolving. China is willing to strengthen strategic communication with Iran, maintain close cooperation on UN affairs, and jointly uphold multilateralism and the status and role of the UN.

Ambassador Ravanchi said that the profound friendship between China and Iran has become even stronger through passage of time. Iran is firmly committed to strengthening cooperation with China and is ready to continue to coordinate closely with China and support each other to further deepen cooperation in various fields at the UN.
