On December 6, Ambassador Zhang Jun met with Ambassador Georgi Velikov Panayotov, Permanent Representative of Bulgaria to the United Nations. The two sides exchanged views on China-Bulgaria relations and cooperation between the two countries at the United Nations.

Ambassador Zhang Jun said that Bulgaria is one of the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with new China. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 70 years ago, the traditional friendship between the two countries has been inherited and developed. The leaders of the two countries unanimously decided to upgrade China-Bulgaria relations to a strategic partnership, charting the course for all-round bilateral cooperation. China is ready to strengthen cooperation with the Bulgaria in UN affairs.

Ambassador Panayotov said that he will continue to strengthen Bulgaria-China relations and cooperation between Central and Eastern European countries and China. Bulgaria supports multilateralism and supports the United Nations in playing an important role, and it stands ready to strengthen communication and coordination with China.
