Ambassador Zhang Jun met with Permanent Representative of Sudan Ambassador Omer Mohamed Ahmed Siddig

On December 17, Ambassador Zhang Jun met with Ambassador Omer Mohamed Ahmed Siddig, Permanent Representative of Sudan to the United Nations. The two sides exchanged views on China-Sudan relations and cooperation between the two countries at the United Nations.

Ambassador Zhang Jun said that China and Sudan enjoy traditional friendship and are good friends, brothers and partners. China supports the efforts of Sudan to pursue peace and improve people’s livelihood. It is hoped that the two permanent missions will continue to support each other, strengthen communication and coordination, and work together to safeguard the common rights and interests of developing countries.

Ambassador Siddig thanked China’s assistance to Sudan’s socio-economic development, commended China for speaking up in the United Nations and Security Council for developing countries including Sudan, and said that Sudan wishes to further deepen coordination and cooperation with China on UN affairs.
