On Feb 25, Ambassador Zhang Jun, in his capacity as incoming President of the Security Council for March 2020, met with Ambassador Bahr Al-Uloom, Permanent Representative of Iraq to the UN. Ambassador Zhang said that China is to assume the presidency of the Security Council for March 2020. Upholding fairness, openness and transparency, China looks forward to working with Iraq towards political settlement of hotspot issues. Amb. Bahr Al-Uloom thanked China for reaching out, expressed his support for China’s work as Council President of March, and his hope that China could continue attaching importance to Iraq’s concerns and playing a constructive role in the Council’s work on Iraq.
