On 14 March, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said in a video message that the world must stand in full solidarity and work together to prevent the further spread of COVID-19.

In response to Mr. Guterres, Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations Ambassador Zhang Jun tweeted, “We firmly support the Secretary-General. Facts show that the coronavirus outbreak can be defeated. What we need is strong leadership, firm determination and decisive actions. We have only one world. Let’s fight in solidarity for our shared future.”
