Q: On the afternoon of October 14, the Throne Council of the Kingdom of Cambodia unanimously chose Norodom Sihamoni as the new King of Cambodia. Please comment on that.

A: China is pleased to learn that. President Hu Jintao sent a telegram to King Norodom Sihamoni the same day to express our warm congratulations. China believes that the succession of King Norodom Sihamoni will benefit the national stability and development of Cambodia. China and Cambodia are friendly neighbours. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Cambodian side to push for the continuous development of the good-neighbourly and friendly cooperation between both countries.
