As a developing country with a strong sense of responsibility, China has all along supported the work of the UN development funds, programs and agencies, and strengthened the cooperation with the UN development system, including consistently increasing contribution to its core resources. The Chinese Government hopes that the United Nations will play a greater role in international affairs and continue to promote the achievement on schedule of the MDGs and other globally agreed development goals.

The Chinese delegation wishes to take this opportunity to announce China's voluntary contribution to the United Nations funds, programs and agencies in 2011. China will contribute on a voluntary basis a total of 13,249,800 US dollars and 5.15 million RMB yuan to the United Nations funds, programs and agencies next year. This contribution, which registers an increase of about 15% over last year, includes:

UNDP (including contribution to UNFSC): 4.6 million US dollars 

UNDP local office: 2.5 million RMB yuan 

UNICEF: 1.3 million US dollars 

UNICEF local office: 500,000 RMB yuan 

UNFPA: 1.05 million US dollars 

UNFPA local office: 300,000 RMB yuan 

WFP: 3.5 million US dollars 

WFP local office: 400,000 RMB yuan 

UNIDO: 710,000 US dollars 

UNIDO local office: 950,000 RMB yuan 

UNCTAD: 140,000 US dollars 

OHRLLS: 20,000 US dollars 

UNCDF: 30,000 US dollars 

United Nations Volunteers: 30,000 US dollars 

Perez-Guerrero Trust Fund for Economic and Technical Cooperation among Developing Countries: 20,000 US dollars 

OCHA: 30,000 US dollars 

CERF: 500,000 US dollars 

The Chinese Government will make the payment for the above-announced contributions after the formal approval by the National People's Congress of China.
