Wang Yi Meets with Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi of Indonesia

On August 6, 2017 local time, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi of Indonesia on the sidelines of the series of Foreign Ministers' meetings on East Asia cooperation in Manila, the Philippines.

Wang Yi said that China-Indonesia relations enjoy a sound development momentum. President Joko Widodo of Indonesia attended the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in China this May. Next month, both sides will hold two meetings on political security and economy at the Deputy-Premier level in Beijing. China is willing to promote the integration between the "Belt and Road" initiative and Indonesia's "Global Maritime Fulcrum" strategy, actively consider participating in the country's construction of "three corridors", deepen cooperation in anti-terrorism, combating transnational crime and other fields, and strengthen bilateral coordination and cooperation in regional and international affairs, so as to jointly safeguard regional peace and stability.

Retno Marsudi expressed that attaching great importance to Indonesia-China relations, the country hopes to maintain bilateral high-level contacts and exchanges in various fields, enhance the alignment between its inter-connectivity strategy and China's "Belt and Road" initiative, especially the practical cooperation in Indonesia's "three corridors" construction, and further carry out cooperation in fighting against transnational crimes of various forms.
