Wang Yi Meets with Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdoulaye Diop of Mali

On November 7, 2017, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Beijing with Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdoulaye Diop of Mali.

Wang Yi expressed that China and Mali have enjoyed a traditional friendly relationship for nearly 60 years, with bilateral friendship being a model for China-Africa friendship and South-South cooperation. At present, Mali is at a crucial period of realizing national stability. China will always firmly support Mali in safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and boosting peace and reconciliation process, and continue to provide assistance to Mali for achieving peace, stability and development within its capacity.

Wang Yi introduced the important outcomes and great significance achieved by the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) as well as its profound influence on the world. He expressed that China will actively implement the principle of upholding justice while pursuing shared interests and the principle of sincerity, real results, affinity and good faith put forward by President Xi Jinping, enhance solidarity and cooperation with developing countries including African countries, and closely combine China's development with Africa's development, so as to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results, as well as common development.

Abdoulaye Diop warmly congratulated on the successful convening of the 19th CPC National Congress, and sincerely wished the Chinese people could obtain greater development results under the leadership of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the CPC. Abdoulaye Diop said that Mali treasures its traditional friendship with China, thanks the Chinese government and people for providing selfless support and assistance to Mali for a long time, and is ready to continuously expand and deepen friendly cooperation in various fields with China, in a bid to bring more well-beings for people of both countries.
