Xi Jinping Accepts Credentials from Seven Newly-appointed Ambassadors to China

In the afternoon of May 28, 2019, President Xi Jinping accepted credentials presented by seven newly-appointed Ambassadors to China at the Great Hall of the People.

This lovely time of early summer is filled with greenness from verdant and luxuriant plants. With guards of honor lining up on both sides of the red carpet outside the North Gate of the Great Hall of the People, the trumpeters blew the horns to greet guests. The newly-appointed Ambassadors to China arrived successively, walked up the stairs and entered the Beijing Hall. The Ambassadors respectively presented their credentials to Xi Jinping. Xi Jinping shook hands and posed for photos with them. These seven newly-appointed Ambassadors are Swiss Ambassador to China Bernardino Regazzon, Colombian Ambassador to China Luis Diego Monsalve Hoyos, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to China Vladimír Tomšík, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to China Jang Ha-sung, Norwegian Ambassador to China Signe Brudeset, Swedish Ambassador to China Helena Sångeland and Chadian Ambassador to China Maitiné Djoumbé.

Xi Jinping welcomed all Ambassadors to China to assume their new posts in China and asked them to convey his sincere greetings and sound wishes to relevant state leaders and people. Xi Jinping pointed out that China attaches great importance to its friendly relations with their countries. In the context of world multi-polarization and economic globalization, China is willing to increase political mutual trust, deepen practical cooperation, and jointly build the Belt and Road Initiative so as to better benefit the people of their countries. The Chinese government will provide convenience and support for the Ambassadors to fulfill their duties. It is hoped that the Ambassadors will make positive contributions to deepening friendship between China and their countries and promoting the development of bilateral relations.

The Ambassadors conveyed warm greetings from their state leaders to Xi Jinping and extended their sincere congratulations on the complete success of the 2nd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. They also expressed that their countries are willing to actively participate in the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. The Ambassadors said that the People's Republic of China has made remarkable achievements in its development for the 70 years since its founding, especially in the past 40 years of the reform and opening up, and is playing an increasingly important role in international affairs. They feel greatly honored to serve as Ambassadors to China and will be committed to pushing the friendly relations between their countries and China to a new level so as to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
