On January 30, 2022, President Xi Jinping exchanged congratulatory messages with Moldovan President Maia Sandu to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Xi Jinping pointed out, China and Moldova are traditional partners of friendly cooperation. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 30 years ago, China-Moldova relations have witnessed sound and steady development, with deepening political mutual trust, substantial progress in cooperation across the board and close collaboration in international and regional affairs. In the face of COVID-19, people of the two countries have stood together and helped each other, writing a touching story of fighting the pandemic with solidarity.

Xi Jinping stressed, I attach great importance to the development of China-Moldova relations and stand ready to work with President Sandu to take the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries as an opportunity to push for further development of China-Moldova relations and cooperation in various areas for the benefit of the two countries and the two peoples.

Sandu said, currently, Moldova-China relations have maintained a momentum of rapid development, with continuously enhanced political dialogue, deepening mutually beneficial cooperation and increasingly smooth coordination in multilateral affairs. Moldova thanks China for providing assistance in pandemic response supplies, and is willing to continuously tap the potential of bilateral cooperation in various fields, so as to strive for the new development of bilateral relations.
