Wang Yi first conveyed the cordial greetings of Chairman Li Zhanshu of China’s National People’s Congress Standing Committee, and noted that over the past 30 years, China and Tajikistan have overcome various challenges and stood the test of international vicissitudes to become "ironclad" friends sharing weal and woe and strategic partners for mutually beneficial cooperation. China will, as always, support Tajikistan in safeguarding its sovereignty, security and development interests, pursuing a successful development path suited to its national conditions, and opposing external interference in Tajikistan’s internal affairs, and be a good friend and partner that Tajikistan can trust and rely on. China is ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two legislatures, and deepen the exchange of governance experience to serve respective countries’ economic and social development.

Rustam Emomali asked Wang Yi to convey his best regards to Chairman Li Zhanshu, saying that Tajikistan and China are good neighbors and good partners. Over the past 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties, the two countries have trusted and treated each other as friends with sincerity, and rendered mutual support at trying times. Under the guidance of the two heads of state, Tajikistan-China cooperation in various fields has scored outstanding achievements, and bilateral relations have reached the highest level in history. Tajikistan sincerely appreciates China’s valuable support for its economic and social development and its efforts to improve the people’s well-being. Tajikistan is ready to join hands with China to elevate Tajikistan-China relations to a new height to the benefit of the two peoples.

Rustam Emomali said Tajikistan has always put relations with China high on its diplomatic agenda, and was one of the first countries to voice support for the important Belt and Road Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping. He hoped that the two legislatures will increase exchanges and mutual visits to flesh out the Tajikistan-China comprehensive strategic partnership. Tajikistan hopes to further boost trade with China, expanding export of agricultural products to China and introducing advanced Chinese technologies to the country. More Chinese enterprises are welcome to invest and do business in Tajikistan. Emomali also thanked China for helping Tajikistan cultivate outstanding professionals over the years, and would like to see more direct flights between the two countries to facilitate personnel exchanges.
