|Xi Jinping Meets with Tunisian President Kais Saied
On the morning of December 9, 2022 local time, President Xi Jinping met with Tunisian President Kais Saied in Riyadh.
Xi Jinping noted that practical cooperation between China and Tunisia in recent years has been on the rise despite challenges. China has overcome the adverse impact of the pandemic and carried out a number of projects on health, sports, human resources training and others in Tunisia, providing a boost to the economic and social development in Tunisia. China is ready to continue to steadily advance cooperation with Tunisia in medical and health care, infrastructure, high-tech and other areas, and expand exchanges in human resources and sub-national and non-governmental exchanges. China encourages competent Chinese enterprises to invest and operate in Tunisia, and welcomes more marketable products and specialties from Tunisia to China.
Xi Jinping emphasized that China firmly supports Tunisia in pursuing a development path suited to its national conditions, opposes interference by external forces in Tunisia’s internal affairs, and believes that Tunisia has the wisdom and ability to safeguard national stability and development. China appreciates that Tunisia highly values the collective cooperation between China and Arab states and actively supports the collective cooperation between China and Africa. China is ready to work together with Tunisia to consolidate and deepen the China-Tunisia friendly cooperative relationship for greater development of China-Arab and China-Africa collective cooperation.
Saied extended heartfelt congratulations on the success of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. He highly agrees with President Xi Jinping’s important views. Under the current international circumstances, no country can develop alone, and all countries should respect each other, pursue a new path of cooperation and mutual benefit, and solve the common problems facing the world today through close cooperation. China has always been on the side of international fairness and justice. The Global Development Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping embodies humanistic concerns and advanced visions, which is of great significance to enhancing the capacity of developing countries and achieving the common development and progress of all countries. Tunisia and China enjoy friendly relations and huge potential for cooperation.
