On June 25, after consultation, heads of delegation to the third round of the Beijing six-party talks held a small-circle meeting. Members of the delegations also conducted frequent cross-conversations. The meeting of heads of delegation focused on core issues in the peace talk process, especially on how to activate the nuclear freezing process so as to start the first step towards denuclearization.

Chairman of the meeting and head of the Chinese delegation Wang Yi said that the meeting of heads of delegation was candid and useful. The parties welcomed to activate nuclear freezing as soon as possible as the first phase of nuclear abandonment and at the same time take corresponding measures, which is important political consensus reached at the meeting. Although the parties still have differences with regard to some specific issues, including the implementation plan, they all agreed to continue to conduct in-depth discussions on those issues. Wang Yi said that opportunities for peace had emerged. What is important is that the parties should exhibit full political will and show a truly flexible and practical attitude. Only in this way can we surmount the difficulties facing us and blaze a trail to resolve the nuclear issue.

After the meeting of heads of delegation, the deputy heads continued discussions on some specific issues and existing differences.
