Ambassador Li Baodong, President of the UN Security Council for the month of June and Permanent Representative of the China to the United Nations, chaired a Security Council meeting on 19 June. The meeting heard the report of Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs Oscar Fernandez-Taranco on the situation in the Middle East. The Security later held an informal consultation to exchange views on the situation in that region.
