Co-Facilitators,

China aligns itself with the statement delivered by Iraq on behalf of G77 and China. We appreciate the leadership of the co-facilitators in steering the negotiation process. 

The negotiation has entered a critical stage. China holds the view that the outcome document should be concise, ambitious and action-oriented, with clear priorities, and focus on implementation. 

In terms of the substance, we believe that the draft should further promote the following aspects:

First, the preamble should emphasize the vision of a shared future of common development and prosperity based on international solidarity and cooperation.

Second, it should reiterate our joint commitment to multilateralism, stress the central role of the UN in global economic governance and the importance of inclusive and equitable economic globalization.

Third, it should put the 2030 Agenda at the center, with a people-centered approach, and strengthen languages on development priorities such as poverty eradication, zero hunger and economic growth, and maintain a good balance between economic, social and environmental dimensions.

Fourth, it should emphasize the efforts in safeguarding the rules-based multilateral trading system with the WTO at its core, promoting trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, and opposing trade protectionism, arbitrary tariffs, and unilateral coercive measures.

Fifth, it should reaffirm the main channel of North-South cooperation in international development cooperation, urge developed countries to deliver their ODA and climate finance commitments.

Sixth, it should strengthen the call for reforming international financial architecture to better reflect relatively changes in the global economic landscape, and substantially increase the voice and representation of developing countries. It should also push for the 2025 World Bank shareholding review to address structural imbalances and the quota realignment at the IMF as scheduled.

Finally, it should recognize the principle of joint action and fair burden-sharing in debt treatment and call for the active participation of international financial institutions and private creditors.

China will continue to engage in the negotiation constructively and work with fellow member states for positive outcomes that meet the expectation of member states.
