Chair,

We welcome the presence of the Chadian Finance Deputy Minister Fatima Haram Acyl at this meeting. I have also listened attentively to the remarks by other colleagues.

In her presentation, Madam Deputy Finance Minister gave an overview of what was achieved by Chad following the completion of the political transition. Under the leadership of the new government, Chad has made positive strides in restoring its constitutional framework, advancing national reconciliation, and improving the well-being of the people. Such success provides valuable lessons for the international community in promoting peacebuilding efforts, and thus deserves our recognition.

We welcome the holding of the presidential, parliamentary, and local elections in Chad. We congratulate Chad on the smooth completion of its political transition. The progress of the relevant political agenda, which is well underway, lays a solid foundation for Chad to resolve internal differences and achieve long-term stability, while contributing also to maintaining regional peace and security. China supports the PBC and other UN agencies in helping Chad sustain the positive momentum after the transition, and in providing more support based on its priorities, thus creating more enabling conditions for lasting peace and stability in the country. At the same time, it is essential to fully respect the country's sovereignty and leadership and avoid interfering in its internal affairs.

Politically, Chad has made positive progress, but it also faces certain development challenges. It is only through sustained economic growth and improvement in people's livelihoods and welfare, can lasting peace be achieved. Following the political transition, it is all the more important for Chad to place greater emphasis on poverty reduction, employment promotion, and livelihood improvement. The PBC, the IMF, and the World Bank have given active support to Chad in advancing national reconciliation, improving infrastructure, and enhancing fiscal sustainability. We hope that the relevant projects will have greater coordination, focus on improving the efficiency of fund utilization and Chad's own capacity for self-sustaining development, and inject more positive factors into Chad's pursuit for lasting peace and stability.

Chair,

China and Chad are good friends and good partners. China has conducted mutual beneficial cooperation with Chad within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and has provided support in areas such as infrastructure, health care, and poverty reduction, actively assisting Chad to develop its economy and improve people's livelihoods. China stands ready to continue its constructive role, together with the international community, to help Chad achieve lasting peace, development, and prosperity.

Thank you, Chair.
