On the evening of July 23rd, 2025, the Permanent Mission of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations held the Reception of Celebrating the 98th Anniversary of the Founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. The United Nations Under-Secretary-General Atul Khare and other senior executives, as well as Military Advisors and Police Advisers to the UN attended the event, with approximately 200 guests in total. The Permanent Representative of China to the UN, Ambassador FU Cong was also present at the celebration.

In his speech, the Military Advisor of China, Major General YIN Zhongliang stated that this year marks the 98th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the triumph of the global community in the World Anti-Fascist War, and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. Meanwhile, it is also the 35th anniversary for China's engagement in the UN Peacekeeping Operations. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the PLA has provided a solid foundation for safeguarding national sovereignty, regional security and common development. Although the global crisis and geopolitical challenges escalate in recent years, the Chinese armed forces remains committed to a defensive national defense policy, and sets the goal of contributing to build a community with a shared future for mankind, which means we will actively advances the Global Security Initiative, strengthen the support for and participation in the UN peacekeeping operations, and work hard to bring more confidence and hope for the cause of would peace and stability.

The Under-Secretary-General Atul Khare praised Chinese peacekeepers for their high professionalism and great dedication, noting that China has provided long-standing and robust support to the UN peacekeeping Operations in air support, medical rescue and logistical transportation, etc. 

At the Reception, promotional videos showcasing the development of PLA and commemorating the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War were played, Chinese military anthems were performed, and the Peacekeeping White Paper of PLA was displayed. The atmosphere of the whole activity was warm and friendly. Guests from various countries extended their congratulations on the achievements of the PLA, and commended on Chinese Armed Forces' great contributions to the UN peacekeeping field.
