
On September 2, the premiere of the documentary “Post-80s in the UN” was held at the United Nations Headquarters. The event brought together more than 200 guests, including representatives from the UN Secretariat and diplomatic missions.
Ambassador Geng Shuang, Chargé d'Affaires of the Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations, emphasized that the United Nations remains the core of the international system and that China has always actively participated in the work of the UN. He noted that young Chinese professionals are serving in various positions across the UN, making important contributions to its work. He expressed the hope that the documentary would help more people better understand the importance of the UN and inspire more young people to join its cause.
Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs Felipe Paullier, Officer-in-Charge of the UN Department of Global Communications Ian Phillips, and Deputy President of Shanghai Media Group Wu Qian, in their remarks, noted that the documentary highlights the younger generation's commitment to multilateralism, and expressed the hope that young people worldwide would actively carry forward the UN's founding mission.
On the occasion of the UN's 80th anniversary, the documentary tells the stories of several UN staff members born in the 1980s, showcasing the vital role of the United Nations.
