On 30th July, 2026, the Permanent Mission of the People’s Republic of China to the United Nations held the Reception of Celebrating the 99th Anniversary of the Founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. The UN Under-Secretary-General Atul Khare, Military Advisors and Police Advisors of Member States to the UN, more than 200 distinguished guests attended the celebration.

The Permanent Representative of China to the UN, Ambassador FU Cong emphasized that under the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China(CPC), the Chinese People's Liberation Army has safeguarded China’s sovereignty, security and development interests, faithfully carried out peacekeeping missions, and stood as a force for peace. Rooted in the people, the CPC has led the Chinese people toward prosperity and strength over the past 105 years; it consistently views the future and destiny of humanity with a global perspective and steadfastly supports the United Nations as well as the purposes and principles of the UN Charter; furthermore, China has put forward four global initiatives on development, security, civilization, and governance, offering China’s wisdom and solutions to address the common challenges facing humanity. China stands ready to work with all countries to uphold the international system with the UN at its core, promote peace, development, cooperation and mutual benefit, champion the common values of humanity, and build a community with a shared future for humanity.

The Military Advisor of China to the UN, Major General YAN Wenjing decleared that the Chinese People’s Liberation Army is the people’s army under the leadership of Chinese Communist Party. The PLA was born of the people and for the people wholeheartedly. The PLA cherishes peace and safeguards national sovereignty and territorial integrity at any cost with unshakable will. The PLA is willing and able to support UN peacekeeping operations and devotes itself to serving and building a community with a shared future for mankind.

The Under-Secretary-General Atul Khare warmly congratulated the Chinese People’s Liberation Army on its 99th anniversary and thanked the Chinese peacekeepers for their significant contributions to UN peacekeeping operations.

The atmosphere of celebration was warm and friendly. The video on the modernization of the PLA was shown on the spot. The distinguished guests extended their congratulations on the achievements of PLA, and commended on China’s great contributions to the world peace and secrutity.
