Li Zhaoxing Meets with UN Secretary General Annan

On September 27, Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing met with UN Secretary General Annan at the UN Headquarters in New York. The two sides exchanged views on the role of the UN, its reform and development as well as the Darfur issue in Sudan. Li expressed China's readiness to continue to be dedicated to enhancing the role and authority of the UN and support the UN reform. Annan spoke highly of China's role in international affairs and thanked China for supporting UN's work in all areas.
