On June 7, Ambassador Li Baodong, President of the Security Council for the month of June and Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations, chaired a Security Council informal interactive dialogue meeting on the situation in Syria. During the meeting, Council members heard the briefing given by Mr. Nabil Elaraby, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States. The dialogue meeting was followed by Security Council informal consultations chaired by Ambassador Li to hear the briefings on the latest developments in Syria given by Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and UN-AU Joint Special Envoy Kofi Annan.
