On April 30, 2009, at the invitation of Young Professionals in Foreign Policy and China Institute, Counselor Huang Zheng of the Chinese Mission to the United Nations delivered a speech entitled "The Certainty of China's Foreign Policy" at the headquarters of China Institute in New York.

Counselor Huang briefed the audience on the path of China's peaceful development, the overall direction of China's foreign policy, China's international strategic objectives and the current status and prospect of China-US relations. He also answered questions on China's defense policy, China's foreign policy toward Africa, South Asia, Central Asia, Middle East and Latin America, China-US cooperation in addressing the financial crisis and climate change, the Darfur issue, Iranian nuclear issue, western media coverage on China and relations across the Taiwan Straits.
